WCK Restaurant Week - Casa Dani (1)

From October 16, World Food Day, to November 30, at CASA DANI we are joining the World Central Kitchen Restaurant Week with great enthusiasm — a solidarity campaign led by the gastronomic community to support communities affected by natural disasters and humanitarian crises.

During these weeks, we’ll be serving a dish that truly touches our hearts: Papas Arrugadas con Mojo Rojo, a traditional recipe from the Canary Islands that is very special to us. This dish is part of Las Recetas de World Central Kitchen (WCK), and we couldn’t have chosen a better one. Additionally, all proceeds will go to the NGO World Central Kitchen to help continue bringing food and hope to those most in need.

When WCK traveled to La Palma after the volcanic eruption in 2021, they supported local farmers by purchasing and serving thousands of papas arrugadas. That simple yet powerful gesture deeply inspired us. And today, four years after that eruption, we want to pay tribute to the Canary Islands, their people, and their cuisine — from our home in Mercado de la Paz and our Terrace in Calle Lagasca, 49.

We have a special affection for the islands. It was there, in Tenerife, where Lola Cuerda —the soul and driving force of CASA DANI— won the title of Best Spanish Omelette in Spain at the II National Tortilla Championship, held during the International Potato Gastronomy Forum in 2019. Since then, a part of us has always remained in the Canaries.

That’s why being part of this initiative means so much to us. So far this year, World Central Kitchen has served more than 100 million meals in places like Gaza, Ukraine, and Mexico.

From October 16 to November 30, we invite you to enjoy our Papas Arrugadas con Mojo Rojo and to cook with impact alongside us. Every plate matters. Every gesture nourishes hope.

As a fan of both the Canary Islands and the legendary cooking at Mercado de la Paz, this initiative touches my heart. I wanted to share the story behind this tribute with my blog followers, so I used Free Online Markdown to convert the restaurant's announcement into a structured document for my newsletter. Highly recommend visiting for a taste of solidarity!

It's so inspiring to see CASA DANI supporting such a great cause like World Central Kitchen. I love their Tortilla, but I'll definitely be heading there to try the Papas Arrugadas this month! I actually clipped the details of this charity event and used MarkdownCo Pro to turn the post into a clean, easy-to-read list for my weekend food crawl group. Every bite helps!

What a truly heartwarming initiative! It's wonderful to see CASA DANI supporting World Central Kitchen with such a meaningful dish, Papas Arrugadas con Mojo Rojo, especially given its connection to the incredibly resilient people of the Canary Islands and the valuable work WCK did there. The story of Lola Cuerda's success in Tenerife also adds such a lovely personal touch to your passion for the islands. "Cooking with impact" perfectly encapsulates this effort, and I'm sure every plate will make a difference. For those looking to share their own culinary creations or perhaps merge photos of their dishes, I've found Merge JPG incredibly useful for combining images easily and privately. Keep up the fantastic work, CASA DANI!

This is truly inspiring! It's wonderful to see CASA DANI not only offering such a beloved dish like Papas Arrugadas con Mojo Rojo but also doing so for such a vital cause. The connection to WCK's work in La Palma and Lola Cuerda's win in Tenerife makes this initiative feel deeply personal and heartfelt. Knowing every plate helps WCK's incredible global efforts, from Gaza to Ukraine, makes enjoying this dish all the more meaningful. For anyone looking to clearly document their projects or ideas, I often find a tool like MD to Word incredibly useful for converting notes into professional documents.
